Overview

Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital’s Adolescent Medicine Program provides comprehensive care of in-patient and out-patient diagnostic, clinical and consultative services for adolescents and young adults, ages 11 - 25 years. Adolescent medicine providers support general health and wellness of teens and young adults as they experience this dynamic period of life characterized by great social, cognitive and physical change. Representing the best in their fields, our physicians have extensive training in a variety of disciplines enabling them to serve the special healthcare needs of adolescent patients. In addition, they may collaborate with other providers who specialize in mental health, nutrition, and social work. Our physicians partner with adolescent patients to consider ways to foster conversations with parents or caregivers about important topics, such as mental and reproductive health, so that parents can best support their teen and their health.
