Advanced technology

Yale New Haven Health offers the latest EOS low dose imaging technology that captures high-quality images with significantly reduced radiation exposure, ensuring the utmost comfort and wellbeing of our patients.

In just a few minutes, the EOSedge® imaging system captures two X-ray scans of the body at the same time. The exam is done in a standing or seated position. This technology is ADA accessible and designed to accommodate most children and adults.

The images and information generated by this technology helps us better understand the patient’s unique anatomy and condition. For those requiring surgery, these images allow the surgical team to plan for surgery and develop treatment plans.

Learn about EOS low dose, three-dimensional upright body imaging.

In addition, we offer 3D modeling allows surgeons to create a replica of a patient's actual spine to determine the best approach to surgery. This advanced preparation equates to less time in the OR and less recovery time for the patient.

Some of our advanced treatment options include:

  • Anterior vertebral body tethering
  • Bracing
  • Halo gravity traction for complex kyphoscoliotic deformities
  • Magnetically controlled growing rods
  • Mehta casting
  • Schroth scoliosis-specific physical therapy
  • Shilla growth guidance
  • Spinal fusion (anterior or posterior)
  • Traditional growing rods
  • Vertical expandable prosthetic titanium rib (VEPTR)
