Discharge and Going Home

After you receive services at or are discharged from Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital or any of our affiliated locations, you may have follow-up questions about future treatment, home care, medications, support groups and other issues. Talk with your care provider about any questions you have.

Prescriptions and Drug Information

Following your treatment, you may be required to take medication, which will be prescribed by a physician or licensed independent practitioner, who also will advise you about each drug, including dosage, side effects and other necessary information. Depending on your insurance plan, you may have certain procedures to follow for ordering prescriptions from certain pharmacies.

The YNHH Prescription Assistance Program is available to qualified patients — regardless of whether or not they have health insurance or pharmacy benefits.
