Patients may face many challenges: physical, emotional and financial. The Yale New Haven Health Medication Assistance Program (MAP) was launched in 2010 to help patients with high out-of-pocket costs afford their chemotherapy and cancer care medication; this program has now expanded to other patient populations requiring high-cost non-oncology medication assistance administered within Yale New Haven Health System.
MAP coordinators collaborate across the Health System to enroll patients in manufacturer and foundation funded medication assistance programs. This allows our patients to focus on their physical and mental health, rather than the burden of their medical expenses. This program directly supports Yale New Haven Health’s vision of “enhancing the lives of those we serve by providing access to integrated, high-value, patient-centered care in collaboration with others who share our values.”
