Help

Our Committees and Programs

The Auxiliary plays a vital role in helping Yale New Haven Hospital better serve our patients, support our community and fulfill the hospital’s mission. We sponsor programs that touch almost every patient. Our committees perform important work that helps improve life within the hospital and throughout the community. We’re continually looking for new ideas and ways to serve, and welcome your ideas, support and contribution.

The Art Corridor at Yale New Haven Hospital’s Saint Raphael Campus is an incredible compilation of local artistry on display. Our committee members organize it all, from working with artists and visiting art exhibits to securing prospective exhibitors and assisting with hanging of the artwork display. Looking Forward Program

The Looking Forward Program, which is part of the Yale New Haven Hospital Auxiliary, directly funds services that help cancer patients cope with the many issues related to their treatment. Through the Integrative Medicine Department, patients are supported during their treatment with programs including energy balancing, yoga, massage therapy, guided imagery, medical Pilates, holistic nutrition and emotional support services. Donations to Looking Forward continue to support these and other important services for patients at Smilow Cancer Hospital.

Membership

As a member of this committee you will help recruit new members, plan membership events and rally member participation and spirit. The range of activities allows you to participate at your convenience and as your schedule allows. Additional benefits of membership include an invitation to the Auxiliary's annual dinner, a subscription to the Auxiliary newsletter and invitations to special events throughout the year.

Project Grants

Funds received by the Auxiliary allow us to provide grants to Yale New Haven Hospital departments for initiatives that support patient care but are not included in the Hospital’s budget. Project Grants Committee members help solicit, receive and evaluate grant proposals. On average, grants totaling nearly $115,000 were made by the Auxiliary to a variety of areas throughout the Hospital each year. These funds were generated by a number of sources including fundraising activities and proceeds from the gift shops and Toy Closet Golf Outing.

Chair: Linda Granito

Scholarships

Yale New Haven Hospital Auxiliary offers a number of $3,000 scholarships to area students who are planning to pursue a career in a health-related profession. Scholarship Committee members review the applications received and select who will receive the funds.

Chair: Stephanie Kollet
