Patients and visitors may park 24 hours a day in the Air Rights Garage located at 60 York Street. The garage is owned and managed by the city of New Haven Parking Authority. YNHH provides security in the Air Rights Garage but does not set the parking rates. 

Hourly and daily rates are available. A covered pedestrian bridge connects the garage’s second floor to the hospital’s 20 York Street entrance.

Smilow Cancer Hospital Parking (Air Rights Garage/4^th Level) Patients, families and visitors to Smilow Cancer Hospital can park in the Air Rights Garage. A walkway from the fourth level into the 55 Park Street building connects by a bridge to Smilow. Please validate your parking ticket with Smilow staff at the location you are visiting or admitted for a reduced rate. To avoid multiple-day charges while staying at Smilow for more than one day, consider asking a friend or family member to remove your car from the parking garage. 

Patients and visitors are encouraged to park in the George Street Garage at 629 George St.  Hourly and daily parking rates are listed below. The George Street Garage offers a direct connection to the hospital on several floors. This garage is open 24 hours per day 7 days per week.

Howard Avenue Garage (790 Howard Avenue): Patients and visitors may park in the Howard Avenue Garage, owned by Yale University and located next to the Yale Physicians Building. Hours are 6 am - 9 pm weekdays; closed on weekends.

Short-Term Parking is located at 671 George Street. The parking lot is open on weekdays from 6 am – 6 pm; closed on weekends. 

Patients and visitors may park in this lot for short-term visits only. Please note the special short-term parking rates that apply to everyone using this parking lot.  The parking lot is staffed with a parking attendant during operating hours who will issue you a ticket.  When you are ready to leave the attendant will accept your ticket and calculate any applicable parking charges. 

Nuclear Medicine and Cardiac Diagnostic Imaging patients are allowed to park in short term parking.

The Orchard Street entrance and exit for the Saint Raphael Campus Orchard Street garage is permanently closed due to a construction project. The new entrance/exit is at 1380 Chapel St.

Patients and visitors may also park in the the garage located across the street from the YNHH Saint Raphael Campus Emergency Room. A covered pedestrian bridge connects the garage’s second floor to the hospital’s Orchard Street entrance. Hours are 6 am - 12:30 am, weekdays; closed on weekends.

Yale New Haven Hospital Valet operates at six separate locations around the hospital.

• Dana Valet (789 Howard Avenue): Weekdays 6 am – 9 pm; closed Saturday and Sunday
• Pediatric Emergency Entrance (853 Howard Avenue): 24 hours per day/7 days per week
• Adult Emergency Entrance (6 York Street): 24 hours per day/7 days per week

Please note: 

• You will be greeted by the valet attendant who will issue you a valet ticket and assist you to the hospital. Keep your parking ticket with you. 
• Your car will be parked in a secure lot.
• When you are ready to leave, you can return to any of the valet locations. The valet attendant will accept your ticket and calculate any applicable parking charges. You can have your vehicle returned to any of the above listed valet entrances; it does not need to be the one at which you arrived.
• If you need to retrieve your vehicle after 9 pm, call 203-688-2510 with your valet ticket number. You many also speak to the Protective Services representative and they will call for you.
• Parking escorts are available all day, every day to accompany visitors to any hospital parking facility. Call Protective Services at 203-688-2500.
