Every quarter, YNHH submits data to the National Database for Nursing Quality Indicators showing the impact nurses have on quality of care. These indicators illustrate how nursing care, such as good oral care, skin care or measures to prevent patient falls, are important to patient outcomes.

Yale New Haven Hospital is among approximately 9 percent of all hospitals nationwide - and one of only seven hospitals in Connecticut - to achieve Magnet® designation by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The designation recognizes healthcare organizations for quality patient care, nursing excellence and innovations in professional practice. YNHH earned Magnet® designation for the first time in 2011, and was re-designated in 2016 and 2021.
