2nd Year, Pediatrics

Yale New Haven Hospital was our number one choice for residency. The pediatrics program here is not too small a program where you're always working with the same people, but at the same time it's not such a huge program where you don't know your colleagues both socially and professionally.

I went to medical school at George Washington University and Dan was nearby at Virginia Commonwealth. We were doing our OB rotation together at Inova Fairfax Hospital for Children in Falls Church, VA, and met while delivering babies. I actually tried to set him up with my best friend, but that didn't work.

We got engaged a few months before we started our residencies at Yale New Haven and were married in September 2010; even though we're in the same program, it's not like we spend all of our time together. When we do have free time, we tend to stay near home in New Haven, but the local beaches are nice getaways in the summer. Plus, we're just a block from the train station, so a quick trip to New York City is easy.
