As an associate professor of medicine at Yale School of Medicine, Dr. Hummel focuses his research on developing safer and more effective strategies to prevent and treat serious arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation and sudden cardiac arrest. He aims to refine therapies that can restore a normal heartbeat and reduce the risk of complications.
Dr. Hummel received medical training from Temple University School of Medicine. He then completed a residency in internal medicine at Yale New Haven Hospital, followed by fellowship training in cardiovascular medicine and cardiac electrophysiology at the University of Virginia Medical Center.
