Mary J. Elliott, PA

Mary has been a Physician Associate with New Haven Rheumatology since 2022. She has also worked as a primary care practitioner. Prior to entering medicine as a second career, Mary earned a PhD in English from Boston College and a BA in English from Yale. She graduated from the Yale Physician Assistant Program in 2021 and was inducted into the Pi Alpha Honor Society for Physician Assistants. She was nominated as class speaker for her Yale Physician Assistant Class of 2021 graduation, then subsequently invited to be the white coat ceremony speaker for the Yale Physician Assistant Class of 2025. Together with her physician mentor and colleague, Dr. Robert Schoen of New Haven Rheumatology, she was a recipient of the Rheumatology Research Foundation’s Mentored Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Award for Workforce Expansion in 2023. She is the New England representative for RhAPP (Rheumatology Advanced Practice Providers) a national organization of physician associates and nurse practitioners specializing in rheumatology. In her spare time she volunteers as a firefighter with her local volunteer fire department, and enjoys hiking, cycling, and open water swimming.
