Patient Relations and Services

Our Patient Relations staff can help patients and family members who have questions, concerns, unmet needs, require special services and assistance or need disability-related accommodations during their visit or stay at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Patient Non-Discrimination Policy

Yale New Haven Hospital staff and physicians support the rights of all patients. YNHH does not restrict, limit or deny care or visitation on the basis of race, color, religion, ancestry or national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, physical or mental disability, citizenship status or any other basis protected by law. The hospital provides emergency medical care to all patients, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay. 

Spiritual Care

At YNHH, our compassionate, multi-faith, American Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE)-certified chaplains provide a variety of spiritual services to patients and families.

Support Groups & Social Work

Our full-time staff of licensed, experience social workers offers free resources, counseling and support groups to help patients and families cope with illness and connect with others who may share their experiences.

Interpreter & Translation Services

For those who speak a foreign language or are deaf or hard of hearing, we provide a variety of free interpretation and translation services to ensure patients and caregivers can clearly communicate with healthcare providers.

Ethics Committee

Our ethics committee can provide guidance and assistance when faced with difficult choices about you or your loved one's health condition and needs.

Pain Management
