Yale New Haven Hospital nurses are invited to the first Nursing Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Symposium, to be held in-person 8 am – 4 pm Tuesday, March 26, at the Omni hotel, 155 Temple St., New Haven. The new, web-based platform brings a host of changes designed to make using Epic more efficient and make future upgrades quicker and easier. Hyperdrive is launching with a rolling go-live that started with Lawrence + Memorial and Westerly hospitals and select ambulatory sites Feb. 5. All remaining locations are scheduled to go live March 3. Once Hyperdrive is live, users will notice a new icon for launching Epic and have access to new features and tools. Visit Epic.ynhh.org to learn more about the coming changes and how to use them. Click Applications & Support Materials and select Epic Upgrade. Staff are also invited to visit information tables to be held 11 am - 1 pm outside the main cafeterias: Saint Raphael Campus – Feb. 20 and 22; York Street Campus – Feb. 21 and 23.
Nurses throughout Yale New Haven Health System are invited to submit abstracts and/or register for the 16th annual Janet Parkosewich Nursing Research Conference, 8 am - 4 pm Wednesday, May 1, at the Yale University West Campus Conference Center. To register or submit an abstract, visit the nursing website on the employee intranet. Choose Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice from the righthand menu. The conference will be held in-person. The keynote speaker is Azita Emami, RN, PhD, the Linda Koch Lorimer Professor of Nursing and dean, Yale School of Nursing.
The Yale New Haven Hospital Auxiliary is offering 10 scholarships of $2,500 each to area graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue healthcare-related careers. The application deadline is March 15. Scholarships are awarded based on academic excellence, financial need, personal statement describing the applicant’s interest in health care, and community service, including school and community activities and/or employment. Applicants must be residents of Bethany, Branford, Cheshire, East Haven, Guilford, Hamden, Madison, Milford, New Haven, North Branford, North Haven, Orange, Wallingford, West Haven or Woodbridge.
