Congratulations to the most recent Yale New Haven Hospital graduates of the Patient Care Associate/Patient Care Technician (PCA/PCT) Registered Apprenticeship Program. The year-long, paid apprenticeship provides classroom instruction and on-the-job training and mentoring to current PCAs and clinical technicians (CTs), along with people from the community who have their CNA (certified nursing assistant) certificate. With help from the Connecticut Department of Labor and a $10 million federal grant, the Yale New Haven Health program aims to train 1,250 PCAs/PCTs over the next few years.
