YNHHS employees put their hearts into Wear Red Day

When National Wear Red Day arrived on Feb. 5, Yale New Haven Health was, well, “reddy.” Employees and physicians showed support for women’s heart health by donning everything from crimson hats to scarlet shoes.

In recognition of Heart Month this month, YNHHS’ Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) has been featured in videos, articles and social media posts to educate employees and the public about heart health and heart conditions.

Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) team members celebrated Wear Red Day at the York Street Campus.


Staff with the HVC Cardiac Rehabilitation Program in New Haven view Heart Month as a great opportunity to encourage heart-health awareness.


Jordan Guevara, unit associate, HVC Advanced Heart Failure and Stroke Unit (Verdi 5 East), decorated his desk – and himself – in honor of Heart Month.


Employees throughout Yale New Haven Health System, including HVC Pharmacy staff, joined in the Wear Red Day celebration.
