Dawn Cooper, RN, MS, service line educator, Medical Critical Care, is among 14 nurses nationwide to receive the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses’ 2019 Circle of Excellence Award. The award is presented annually to nurses who achieve excellent outcomes in caring for acutely and critically ill patients and their families. Award criteria include relentless promotion of patient-driven excellence, communication skills and true collaboration. Awardees also demonstrate the ability to transform thinking, structures and processes; address challenges and remove barriers to excellent patient care; and achieve visible results through leadership.
Deirdre Doyle, RN, MSN, has been named clinical program director, Medicine Services. She oversees eight medicine units on the York Street Campus. Doyle joined YNHH in 2010 after working as a clinical nurse and in nursing management positions at hospitals in New York and Connecticut. During her YNHH career, Doyle has served as patient service manager of Medicine units EP 9-7 and 4-7 and, most recently, EP 4-6 and 4-7. Doyle earned her BSN from the University of Connecticut and a dual master’s in health administration and nursing from the University of Phoenix. She was an American Organization of Nurse Executives fellow in 2013.
Jennifer Menillo, RN, BSN, has been named clinical program director, Medicine Services. She oversees the eight medicine units on the Saint Raphael Campus. Menillo joined the former Hospital of Saint Raphael in 1997 and has worked as a clinical nurse on the Medical Telemetry Unit, nursing staff development instructor, diabetes educator and nurse care coordinator. She was most recently patient service manager for Medical Telemetry (SLA 3). She earned her BSN from Colby-Sawyer College and her master’s in healthcare administration from the University of New Haven. Menillo was an American Organization of Nurse Executives fellow in 2015.
