Wanted: Heart Walk team captains, participants

YNHH needs a few more team captains — and as many participants as possible — to meet its $100,000 fundraising goal for the Greater New Haven Heart Walk, Saturday, May 2, at Savin Rock in West Haven. Registration is at 9 am; the walk begins at 10 am.

Keith Churchwell, MD, vice president and executive director of Heart and Vascular Services at YNHH, is injecting a little friendly competition into the registration: He will buy a heart-healthy lunch for the team that registers the most walkers.

Yale New Haven Health System is a sponsor of the Heart Walk event, which will also feature kids' games and face painting, health screenings and information, a silent auction, healthy snacks and lunch by Subway. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome to walk, too.

Participants from YNHHS will each receive a Heart Walk t-shirt and a light breakfast in the YNHHS hospitality tent.

To register a team online, visit the Greater New Haven Heart Walk web page and choose Yale New Haven Health/Yale University as the company. There is no registration fee or fundraising minimum.
