Thanks to the New Haven Fire Department, Santa got a lift – and gave patients one, too – during his annual visit to Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. The fire department willingly loans Old St. Nick one of their bucket trucks to greet youngsters and staff at the hospital.
There was no shortage of holiday cheer at the Saint Raphael Campus cafeteria when Maria Cusanelli (left) paused for a quick pic with fellow Food and Nutrition employee Hazel Strain (AKA one of Santa’s elves).
Wait a minute … red velvet scrubs? And how do you fit test for a respirator over that beard? It’s OK. Santa was just visiting hardworking staff throughout the hospital, like this team from Hematology/Oncology (EP 4-7).
With a special delivery of cookies, staff on the Short-Stay Pediatric unit (SP 7-4) had the holidays all wrapped up. Michael Holmes, executive vice president and chief operating officer, was among the YNHH leaders who delivered cookies to employees on the day and night shifts throughout the hospital.
Staff at the North Haven Medical Center went all out decorating for the holidays, with lights, mini-Christmas trees and menorahs at their stations. Even their Martti (which stands for “my accessible real-time trusted interpreter”) cart got in on the fun.
Perioperative Services was extra busy the day of cookie delivery, but a team from the Adult PACU took a few seconds for a photo with Maxwell Laurans, MD, YNHH senior vice president, Neurosciences, Orthopedics and Surgical Services.
Many employees find creative ways to spruce up their spaces during the holidays, and the team from the Saint Raphael Campus Satellite Pharmacy was no exception.
This merry crew from Medicine (Celentano 2) has some great holiday swag, but it’s their smiles that really make their patients’ days.
