Under Yale New Haven Health’s new mandatory vendor interaction process, all pharmaceutical and medical device vendors must submit written requests to [email protected] for speaking and/or consulting engagements before communicating with YNHHS workforce members. The Office of Privacy and Corporate Compliance must review and approve requests before the vendor may contact a workforce member. Any workforce member who is contacted by a vendor about a speaking and/or consulting engagement should advise the vendor to use the vendor request email address.
Yale New Haven Health employees are invited to a three-day, interactive Simulation Design and Debriefing course designed to educate participants on simulation theory and practical application in clinical disciplines and non-clinical services:

Nurses throughout Yale New Haven Health System are invited to the 16th annual Janet Parkosewich Nursing Research Conference. The conference will be held in-person, 8 am - 4 pm Wednesday, May 1, at the Yale University West Campus Conference Center. The keynote speaker is Azita Emami, RN, PhD, the Linda Koch Lorimer Professor of Nursing and dean, Yale School of Nursing. Watch for future communications about submitting abstracts and registering for the conference.

The Commission on Cancer recently awarded Smilow Cancer Hospital three-year full reaccreditation after a site visit. Smilow was recognized for using a multidisciplinary approach and treating cancer as a complex group of diseases that requires consultation among surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists and other healthcare professionals who specialize in caring for patients with cancer.
Yale New Haven Hospital has again earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) Certification. The certification recognizes the hospital’s ventricular assist device program, part of the Heart and Vascular Center. A VAD is a treatment option used as a bridge to heart transplant, or as a primary treatment, known as destination therapy, for advanced heart failure patients not eligible for heart transplantation.
