Throwback Thursday: Nurses on parade

Students from the former Hospital of Saint Raphael School of Nursing proudly donned their capes and caps for New Haven’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade, c. 1957. The marchers headed down Chapel Street, starting near the hospital and ending at the New Haven Green. The parade, which was first held on March 17, 1842, had halted for several decades before restarting in 1956.
