PEACE recognition announced

These employees received PEACE (Patient Experience Award for Caring and Excellence) recognition for going above and beyond to meet patients’ and families’ needs.

A multidisciplinary team of representatives from Care Management, Palliative Care, Spiritual Care, Social Work and the Grimes Center was honored for their efforts to provide end-of-life care for a husband and wife who had each received terminal diagnoses. They decided not to pursue additional treatment but wished to spend their remaining time together. Staff worked to coordinate a combined transfer of both patients to the Grimes Center and facilitated a final visit for them with their siblings.
