All YNHHS clinical staff are invited to The Joseph Keane Fund Lecture, “Caring for Families Experiencing Perinatal Loss,” 9 - 11:30 am Thursday, May 18, Bridgeport Hospital Hollander Auditorium. The program, also available as a webinar, will explore interdisciplinary perspectives on caring for families who have experienced an intrauterine, neonatal or infant death. Presenters include Stephen Thung, MD, chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology, BH; Tim and Jessica Keane, Keane Fund founders; and Michael Berman, MD, clinical professor of obstetrics, gynecology and reproductive science, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, and founder, Hygeia/Hope After Loss. Also presenting are Katherine Campbell, MD, medical director, Labor and Birth, YNHH; Angela Montgomery, MD, associate professor of pediatrics, Yale School of Medicine and co-leader, YNHH Neonatal-Perinatal Palliative Care, YNHH; Kristin Spengler, neonatal nurse practitioner, Greenwich Hospital; and Elisabeth Schneider, perinatal bereavement counselor, BH. YNHHS employees are invited to the annual Wound Science Symposium, 7:30 am - 4:45 pm Monday, May 22, Trumbull Marriott, 180 Hawley Lane. Hosted by Bridgeport Hospital and YNHHS, the symposium includes 30-minute hands-on sessions on compression wraps; negative pressure wound therapy application and troubleshooting; application and removal of total contact casts; wound debridement; and graft application. Caroline Fife, MD, chief medical officer and professor of geriatrics at Baylor College of Medicine will present “New Eyes on an Old Problem: Pressure injuries and the vascular phenomenon associated with them.” The event is free.
