Yale New Haven Health has launched its Know Your Numbers (KYN) Plus program, which allows benefits-eligible employees to earn premium credit toward their 2024 YNHHS Medical Plan.
While all employees can benefit from knowing their numbers – total cholesterol, blood pressure, height, weight, body mass index and more – KYN offers employees hired on or before Aug. 14, 2023, the opportunity to earn up to $500 credit toward their 2024 YNHHS Medical Plan premium.
“We are pleased to present the Know Your Numbers Plus 2023 program, and to once again provide the opportunity for benefits-eligible employees to earn premium credit toward their YNHHS Medical Plan,” said Melissa Turner, senior vice president and chief human resources officer, YNHHS. “Employees who are not currently enrolled in the YNHHS Medical Plan but anticipate enrolling next year are encouraged to track their activities as well – and not leave money on the table.”
To earn credit, employees must complete selected activities, including a required biometric screening. This screening is a brief in-person assessment that can provide a picture of the employee’s overall health, alert them to possible health risks and earn a $300 credit toward the $500 maximum. Employees can earn an additional $200 in credit by participating in Personal Choice Activities, such as dental visits, gym workouts, wellness courses and more.
Onsite biometric screenings will begin at all delivery networks in June. Appointments are required and may be scheduled through the Virgin Pulse portal, accessible through Infor, under “Employee Programs.” Employees can also have their screening as part of a preventive care visit with their primary care or ob/gyn physician, or at a participating CVS Caremark Pharmacy. (Please note: it may take up to 21 days for onsite biometric screening results to post to Virgin Pulse.)
To document eligible Personal Choice Activities completed between Oct. 1, 2022, and Sept. 1, 2023, employees must first enroll in Virgin Pulse at join.virginpulse.com/ynhhs. If already enrolled, employees may log in to Virgin Pulse through Infor, under “Employee Programs.” For access on the go, download the free Virgin Pulse app on smartphones or tablets from the App Store or Google Play.
The table below lists this year’s eligible Personal Choice Activities, along with the credit value for each. Use the Rewards tab in Virgin Pulse to find details on each Personal Choice Activity and track earned credits. Any credit earned by completing KYN Personal Choice Activities will remain “locked” until completion of a biometric screening.
The KYN Plus program is part of Thrive, the hub for all YNHHS well-being resources. All YNHHS employees may participate in Virgin Pulse activities and Thrive events to work on their well-being at any time throughout the year; however, they will not earn KYN event credit if they are not benefits-eligible. Visit the Thrive intranet site.
All KYN Plus activities must be completed and documented by Sept. 1, 2023. Employees will receive a postcard in the mail this month with program details. Additional information is in the KYN brochure on HRConnect. For more information, call HRConnect, 1-844-543-2147 (option 1).
