Veronica Fraser; Alan Friedman, MD; Benjamin Tolchin, MD
Veronica Fraser has been named executive director, System Laboratory Services, Yale New Haven Health. She began her career as a clinical microbiologist and moved into management at New York Methodist Hospital and New York Presbyterian Hospital. Fraser led laboratory services at Atlantic Health System in New Jersey for over 15 years before joining Trinity Health of New England, where she led integration of laboratory services into a health system. Fraser earned her BS in clinical laboratory science at Saint Francis University and her MBA in health/healthcare administration/management at Baruch College.
Alan Friedman, MD, has been named chief medical officer, Yale New Haven Hospital. In addition to his new role, Dr. Friedman maintains his current responsibilities as Yale New Haven Health System chief medical experience officer and professor of pediatrics (cardiology) at Yale School of Medicine. Since joining YNHH in 1991, Dr. Friedman has held a number of leadership positions in the hospital and health system. He earned his MD degree from Wayne State University; completed his internship, residency and chief residency at Children's Memorial Hospital-Northwestern University in Chicago; and completed a fellowship at Yale School of Medicine.
Benjamin Tolchin. MD, has been named the first director of Yale New Haven Health System’s Center for Clinical Ethics. Dr. Tolchin is a neurologist at Yale New Haven Hospital and an assistant professor of neurology at Yale School of Medicine. He earned his MD from Harvard Medical School; completed an internship at New York University Medical Center; his neurology residency at Columbia University Medical Center; fellowships in clinical neurophysiology and epilepsy at Brigham and Women’s Hospital; and a fellowship in medical ethics at Harvard Medical School.
