Smilow Care Center opens in Rhode Island

A Smilow Cancer Care Center recently opened at Westerly Hospital, becoming the first Smilow facility in Rhode Island. The new center features eight infusion rooms and seven exam rooms. A dietitian, social worker and financial counselor are on site. Second opinion consultations with oncologists at Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven can be arranged when needed, and radiation oncology is available at the Smilow Cancer Care Center in Waterford, CT. The new center provides patients in eastern Connecticut and Rhode Island easier access to cutting-edge clinical trials, immunotherapies, genetic counseling, nutrition counseling, survivorship guidance and other services.
